In partnership with Humewood House / 1900 Sheppard (a community agency and residence for young mothers), this course examines how and why young mothers are demonized in contemporary culture, media, education, and social and public policy. It explores how to empower young mothers through strategies and programs inspired by feminist theory and in engagement with young mothers and their mentors. Prerequisites: AP/GL/GWST 2513 6.00, fourth-year student

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
