A study of the drama of the English Renaissance including the literary, cultural and historical contexts in which the plays were produced. The theatrical performance of transgression is emphasized, as well as the marvellous, subversive and disruptive activities of supernatural figures.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
