Examines the construction of gender - both femininity and masculinity - and sexuality in popular culture with a consideration of how social, political and historical forces influence media practices as well as audience consumption preferences. Note: Students will need access to the Internet for web-based research. Course credit exclusions: GL/GWST 2511 6.00. PRIOR TO FALL 2013: Course credit exclusions: AP/WMST 1510 6.00, GL/WMST 1510 6.00.
