Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite
Examines major feminist theoretical approaches, both historical and contemporary, in women's and gender studies. Students will develop their analytic skills by engaging in rigorous critique and debate of feminist theorizing. Students will write detailed assessments of specific theoretical feminist approaches that take into consideration difference and intersectionality. Prerequisites: AP/GWST 2500 6.00 or GL/GWST 2500 6.00 or AP/GWST 2500 6.00 or GL/GWST 2510 9.00. Course credit exclusions: AP/GWST 4500 6.00, GL/GWST 4500 6.00. No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term. The exceptions to the rule are classes which regularly meet Friday evenings or on Saturday and/or Sunday at any time, and courses offered in the compressed summer terms.
