An examination of recent developments in the study of culture as they affect sociological thinking about contemporary society, drawing on sociological as well as other theories and approaches. Includes case studies on gender, popular culture, multiculture, aesthetics, nationalism, political economy of culture, ideology.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
