Introduces students to the field of international development studies, which has emerged as a result of efforts to bring about development in Third World countries. It uses a critical and historical approach drawing on concrete case studies, to examine the assumptions, practices and consequences of development. Course credit exclusions: AP/HREQ 1910 6.00, AP/SOSC 1910 6.00, AP/SOSC 1430 9.00.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
