Examines from a social science perspective the prospects of technology, bioscience, and information management, versus such perils as environmental degradation, terrorism, organized crime, and pandemics that are evidently emerging around us. Students will address emerging issues and formulate responses. Note: This is an approved LA&PS General Education course: Social Science Note: This course will not count for major credit in HREQ. No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
