Uses historical and contemporary materials to examine the uses and role of law and legal institutions in the production and reproduction of social order. The focus throughout will be on the Canadian experience. Various analytic and methodological approaches will be discussed, and students will be encouraged to pursue original research in relevant substantive areas of their choice. Course credit exclusion: GL/POLS 3136 3.00.
