Examines popular trials as events that generate public interest and as occasions for the dramatization of social norms. The conceptual tools developed in the first part of the course are used later to analyze several historically significant trials.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
