This course explores the experiences, perspectives, and roles of children and youth in migration processes in a global context. Through an examination of various theoretical texts and case studies, this course will provide a critical introduction to a variety of issues currently debated in the field of childhood and migration, including agency and identity, emotion and affect, social and cultural reproduction, and the role of the state and its institutions in the processes of migration and integration. Prerequisites: None. Course credit exclusions: None. Notes: Priority will be given to Children's Studies and Humanities majors and minors.

Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
