AP/GWST4520 3.0 A: Female Masculinities and Queer Genders

This course reads key twentieth-century cultural, visual and literary texts which depict a wide range of female masculinities and develops significant concepts in the interdisciplinary field of twentieth-century gender studies, cultural studies and queer theory. It explores these concepts through a number of forms including signifnant novels, essays and cultural theory, performance texts, autobiographies and memoirs, documentary and narrative films. Prerequisites: AP/GWST1501 9.00, AP/GWST 1502 6.00, AP/GWST 1503 6.00 or AP/WMST/GWST 2510 9.00 or AP/SXST 2600 6.00 or permission from the instructor.
