This course covers the key figures, issues and terms in Islamic Feminist tradition. An explication of indigenous models of emancipation of women in Islam is sought. A redefinition and reassessment of Islamic tradition is opened for discussion. Course credit exclusions: AP/GL/WMST 3535 3.00 (prior to Fall 2013). PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusion: AK/AS/WMST 3535 3.00.
