This course explores classic and contemporary anthropological perspectives and approaches to the study of politics. Drawing on ethnographic case studies from around the world, we explore the theory and ethnographic methods anthropologists employ to study the ways social groups enact, resist, and transform power relations.Prerequisites:At least one 3000 level anthropology course

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
