Provides an introduction to second language acquisition. Issues discussed include linguistic, biological, cognitive, socio-psychological, and socio-educational aspects of second language acquisition. A variety of theoretical models are also considered. Prerequisite: AP/LING 1000 6.00 or AP/LING 2060 6.00 or AP/LING 3220 3.00 or AP/SC/PSYC 3290 3.00. Course credit exclusions: GL/EN/LIN 3606 3.00. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Prerequisite: AK/AS/SC/PSYC 3290 3.00 or AS/LING 1000 6.00 or AS/LING 3220 3.00. Course credit exclusion: AS/LING 3240.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
