Explores regional varieties of Spanish from the Iberian Peninsula and Latin American, including indigenous and African contributions to Latin America Spanish, and contact varieties in the United States and elsewhere. Prerequisite: AP/SP 3100 3.00 or AP/SP 3000 6.00 or AP/SP 3050 6.00 or equivalent or permission of the Instructor.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
