This course explores the genre and subgenres of sports writing, considering both the theory and practice of sports storytelling. Emphasis is placed not just on studying sports journalism, but also producing such journalism. The course considers also sports publicity, systemic narratives in sport, and composition in digital media. Students visit local sporting events, conduct interviews, and create a feature biography, or an investigative report, as part of their coursework.Prerequisites: 84 credits

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
