The course examines contemporary and posthumous literary and iconographic representations of Caligula, Claudius and Nero, Roman emperors from AD 37 to 68, and explores the cultural conditions that help to explain why they were represented in such a hostile manner. Course credit exclusions: None. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusions: AS/HUMA 4100A 6.00 (prior to Fall/Winter 2003-2004), AS/HUMA 4102 6.00.
