This course takes a literary approach to a wide range of texts, including not only the traditional genres, poetry, drama and fiction, but also a broad range of less obviously literary texts, such as journalistic, philosophical, sociological, historical, scientific, political and Internet writing, from the earliest times to the present. It guides students in the development of the critical skills required for upper level study of both English literature and all humanities disciplines.
