This course explores the evolution and diversity of the short story as one of the signal achievements of Canadian literature. Taking note of some of its antecedents, we focus primarily on its development as a modern form. Course credit exclusion: AP/EN 4230 6.00. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusions: AS/EN 4270A 6.00 (prior to Fall/Winter 2003-2004), AS/EN 4372 6.00, AS/EN 4274 3.00.
