Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

This course deals with the concepts and techniques of modern systems analysis and design. Information systems are becoming increasingly central to the operation of organizations. At the basis of a successful system, development is systems analysis and design. This involves methods of analysis for assessing the information needs of an organization and determining how computer systems can provide problem-solving help. This course focus more on System Analysis then in System Design. The reason for the success and failure of systems will be discussed, along with alternative designs that might have avoided the failures. The role of the analyst in investigating current systems, defining IT requirements, working with technical and non-technical staff, and making recommendations will be described.
