What is nature? How is it kept apart from culture? How do anthropologists analyze environmental destruction and climate change? This course explores these questions from an anthropological perspective. It draws on examples from across the globe to examine cultural practices, ideologies and discourses that result in environmental loss and focuses on local struggles that fight for environmental justice. Course credit exclusion: AP/ANTH 4240 3.00 (prior to Winter 2012).
Course Start Up
Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
