Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

This course considers the growing presence of food and food issues in the media, and offers an overview of some key current issues surrounding food. As a way of illustrating the powerful role food plays in social life, some attention is also paid to food policy and the role of food in mobilizing community initiatives. The course is of interest to students who expect to work in cultural industries and advertising, as well as to students who plan to work in civil service, non-government organizations, and community planning and development. Course credit exclusions: None.


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website. Course materials begin to be released on the course website during the first week. To log in to your eClass course visit the York U eClass Portal and login with your Student Passport York Account.
