This course explores a range of commemorative gestures and remembrance practices that seek to come to terms with past atrocities. Memory, emotion, and imagination in the aftermath of mass violence are examined through trials, truth commissions, museums, memorials, and art exhibits.Prerequisite: 24 creditsCourse credit exclusion: Prior to Fall 2019: AP/HREQ/HUMA 3020 3.00 Rights Commemoration and Human Rights Pedagogy
