Since genre determines most of the essential elements that a writer must consider and apply, including purpose, audience, form, style, voice, evidence, methodology, ethics and context, understanding genre is crucial for effective writing. This course explores these critical considerations of genre, and students apply these concepts to their own writing in multiple academic and professional writing genres.
