This course investigates current debates and issues related to gender and Islamophobia in Canadian and international contexts. The course takes an intersectional analytic approach that brings together seminal and emerging scholarship on the topic in anti-racist feminism, critical Muslim studies, critical race studies, critical studies on anti-blackness, transnational and postcolonial feminism and critical sexuality studies. Course credit exclusions: AP/GL GWST 3535 3.00; AK/AS WMST 3535 3.00 (prior to Fall 2009); AP/GL WMST 3535 3.00 (prior to Fall 2013)
