Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

An overview of Sikhism, major texts of Sikh tradition, and the rich array of poetics, musical thought and languages involved. It exposes students to the Sikh geographical imagination which emerges in sacred texts, place and institutional development, and embodied practices. Students will also gain insights into the religious and cultural circulations between Punjab, South Asia, and the diaspora. Course credit exclusion: AP/MIST/ REI 3802 3.00 (prior to Fall 2013).


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
