This course explores the legal and institutional safeguards required for democratic organizing and action. It takes an historical view of the constitutional and practical measures required to protect the operation of a democratic public sector in varying historical forms of the state, as well as the legitimate constraints on the operation of the right to freedom of assembly.Course credit exclusion: AP/HREQ 4770 6.00Prerequisites: 78 credits or, permission of the Undergraduate Program Director.
