This course will analyze forms of collective behaviour (crowd, mob, panic, fashion, cult) with a view to understanding their function in society. Factors conducive to the formation of such behaviour, characteristics of members, leadership and processes of social action will be considered.The majority of spaces for this course are reserved for Sociology majors who have completed 24 credits and are in Level 2-4 with some spaces open to Non Sociology Majors who have completed 24 credits and are in Level 2-4
