This course introduces students to traditional oral cultures of the African-Caribbean diaspora. Adapting an ethnographic approach, the course focuses on the culture's African origins, its evolution in the Caribbean nations, and its subsequent transplantation to urban contexts such as Toronto. Course credit exclusions: None. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusion: AS/HUMA 3664 3.00.
