This course introduces current issues related to poverty and dispossession from a critical human rights perspective. It examines the socio-economic structures and legal-political institutions that shape divisions of economic class, social status, and material prosperity in a global context. Course credit exclusion: HREQ/SOSC19106.00The Global South and Human Rights; AP/SOSC 1430 9.00; AP/SOSC 1439 9.00Note: Approved SOSC General Education course for AP. This course will not count for major credit in HREQ.
