This course introduces students to the theoretical study of culture, offering tools for understanding, questioning, and analyzing the social, historical, and political contexts of the media we experience on a day-to-day basis. It covers and develops the fours streams of the Humanities Major: Power, Diaspora, and Race; Arts, Material, and Popular cultures; Digital, Technological, and Natural Worlds; Texts, Contexts, Interpretations.AP/HUMA 1781 6.00


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
