Critically examines the relationship between Islam and human rights. Describes the state of human rights in Muslim-majority countries and debates within them and amongst Muslim minorities in liberal democracies over the compatibility of human rights claims with Islamic principles. Course credit exclusion: AP/HREQ 3800 3.00. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusion: AK/HREQ 3800 3.00.
