This French-language course focuses on spoken French. Oral comprehension, pronunciation, conversational skills and vocabulary are improved through various oral activities, including individualized coaching and discussion on a variety of topics. The unifying thematic framework is that of the Francophone world. A blended version of this course is to be offered on a regular basis.Prerequisite: AP/FR 1080 6.00 (with a minimum grade of C), or departmental permission. Course credit exclusions: GL/FRLS 2700 3.00, GL/FRAN 2870 3.00

AP/FR 2082 3.0 is required for any student specializing in French.
The course focuses on strategies of oral comprehension and production in order to build greater self-confidence and independence. Students will gain the means to systematically correct their oral French through the use of tools for life-long autonomous learning. Students will work on the voice, diction and articulation, as well as nonverbal communication and spontaneous expression without notes in front of an audience.
Along the way, students will have the occasion to discover the diversity of the global Francophone world through the study of themes such as the arts, media and science.
Students will also engage in research that they will present before a Francophone jury as a final project.
Prerequisite course: AP/FR 1080 6.0 with a minimum grade of C
Required readings are provided through eClass.

At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Articulate clearly

- Correctly apply the rules relative to the e caduc (silent e)
- Correctly accentuate words and phrases
- Define the global Francophonie and the role of the OIF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie)

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
