Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

Addresses central issues of power, governance and resistance in the global political economy, including potential future alternatives -- in light of the changing relations between rulers and ruled. It will discuss selected issues including: market civilization, power of capital and the offshore world, disciplinary neo-liberalism, new constitutionalism, surveillance and panopticism, livelihood and dispossession, food security/sovereignty and sustainability of the biosphere.
