Calendar Description / Prerequisite / Co-Requisite

Examines the major political, social, cultural and economic developments in Ireland since the seventeenth century. Topics include the Ulster plantation, the Act of Union, Catholic Emancipation, the Great Famine, Irish nationalism, the Irish landscape, emigration and the Irish diaspora, the 1916 rebellion, the Anglo-Irish War and the histories of southern and northern Ireland since partition. Course credit exclusion: AP/GEOG 3081 3.00.
