This course introduces a range of foundational analytical tools required in economics. The discussion of each such tool is anchored in economic applications. The course develops students' critical thinking and learning-to-learn skills. It prepares students for mastering the technical tools economists need, and which are taught in ECON 1530 and ECON 1540.Notes: This course may not be taken by any student who has taken or is currently taking another university course in mathematics or statistics including ECON 1530 3.00 and ECON 1540 3.00. This course prepares students to take ECON 1530.


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website. Course materials begin to be released on the course website during the first week. To log in to your eClass course visit the York U eClass Portal and login with your Student Passport York Account.
