This course delves into the key elements of French literature, culture, and society from the French Revolution to the 20th century by studying its literary masterpieces. Students gain an understanding of the evolution of the writer's role, both male and female, the evolution of the literary landscape, the debates on literature's influence, and the philosophical ideas that shaped modernity. Prerequisite: AP/FR 2200 with a minimum grade of C.


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
