As an emerging field, Digital Sociology probes into how digitalization transforms social structures, interactions, and institutions. By examining the nexus between society and emerging technologies, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), the course reviews the concepts, tools, and practices that sociologists develop to analyze the intersections of the social and the digital.Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed 84 credits. Course credit exclusions: None. PRIOR TO FALL 2009: Course credit exclusion: AS/SOCI 4930 6.00.


Course Start Up

Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website.
