This course is intended for students with no previous experience with French and brings them up to the CEFR A1 level (Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). It provides essential communication skills in oral, written, listening and speaking. Students having taken Grade 9 French or above within the last 10 years are not eligible to take this course. This course does not count towards the degree requirements for students majoring or minoring in French Studies. Note: Students may only register in AP/FR 1001 3.00 after completing a language placement test. Course credit exclusions: AP/FR 0120 6.00, AP/FR 1020 6.00, GL FSL 1001 3.00.
Course Start Up
Course Websites hosted on York's "eClass" are accessible to students during the first week of the term. It takes two business days from the time of your enrolment to access your course website. Course materials begin to be released on the course website during the first week. To log in to your eClass course visit the York U eClass Portal and login with your Student Passport York Account.
