Focuses on core aspects of syntactic theory from a Minimalist perspective. Concepts covered in AP/LING 2140 3.00 are assumed throughout. Topics discussed include argument structure, VP shells, properties of functional categories, Case theory, head and XP movement, and DP structure, among others. Prerequisite: AP/LING 2140 3.00 or equivalent with a grade of C or better.

No examinations or tests collectively worth more than 20% of the final grade in a course will be given during the final 14 calendar days of classes in a term.
